	HASAN&PARTNERS Hasan&Partners Christmas card done with producer Kirsi Pärni from Left&Right and photographer Marco Melander. My job was to create the background and plant the studio photographed people in it.


	SONERA Sonera has a complete range of mobile and fixed services and is the leading mobile operator in Finland. Advertising agency DDB Helsinki needed me to airbrush the models facial features to oblivion. Photographer Anton Sucksdorff.


	TOYS Photo collage. Personal project.


	CROWMOOR Crowmoor is a dry English-style apple cider by Sinebrychoff. Sinebrychoff is the oldest industrially operating brewery in the Nordic countries and one of Europe's most modern breweries. I teamed up with Fake Graphics and advertising agency Taivas to create a dark and moody moor imitating the Crowmoor's logo. The product shot was made by Outo. The final image was used in magazines and in outdoor posters.


	AATAMI & EEVA Aatami & Eeva is a new entertaiment program for tv channel Nelonen where married celebrities compete how well they really know each other. A retouch collaboration with a talented photographer Perttu Saksa. The advertising agency was 358.



	SEEPSULA Seepsula is a Finnish family-run business working in the field of stone processing. Hasan&Partners hired me to do 5 different logo illustrations that show Seepsula's materials in use and the potential outcome.


	POWER ANIMALS Retouch and photo collage training. Personal project.



	GOLDEN CAP Golden Cap Sparkly is a semi-dry sparkling wine drink, developed by Sinebrychoff. Sinebrychoff is the oldest industrially operating brewery in the Nordic countries and one of Europe's most modern breweries. I teamed up with photographer Marko Rantanen and advertising agency Bob Helsinki to create a fantasy filled scene. I was in charge of the illustrations and retouching the image. The final picture was used in outdoor posters.



	VON HERTZEN BROTHERS Von Hertzen Brothers is a Finnish prog-related rock band consisting of the three Von Hertzen brothers, citing bands such as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd and Kingston Wall as their influences. Each of the brothers have played in many popular Finnish rock bands. I was hired by Backstage Alliance to retouch photographer Kira Gluschkoff's images for Von Hertzen Brothers third album under the supervision of art director Ville Granroth.


	PANDA Panda is a Finnish confectionery company that was founded in 1920. Being the second largest domestic confectionery producer, Panda is among the best known candy companies in Finland and it is best known for it's licorice products. This national sweet treat has been manufactured with the same recipe since 1933, and it has been one of the nation’s most loved candy products for over 75 years. I teamed up with Fake Graphics and advertising agency TBWA to create midnightsummer scenery with our national sweets' face in it. The final image was used as a part of a film and in outdoor posters.


	FRAGILE CHILDHOOD "I was shocked to hear that after only a couple of drinks my child doesn't know me anymore. In my own eyes I'm just starting to be tipsy, but Niko thinks I've become another person. Mom is gone and he's left alone." The Fragile Childhood activity has begun in 1986 and has been established as a well-known form of activity in Finland. Its goal is to help children who suffer from parental alcohol misuse. The campaign was done with Euro RSCG and I was in charge of the art direction and illustration. The Fragile Childhood campaign was chosen to be a part of the Act Responsible Expo. A worldwide touring exhibition shown at public and professional events: Paris, Cannes, London, Brussels, Barcelona, Warsaw, New York, Seattle, Santiago de Chile, Milan, Seoul and Beijing. The campaign got a first prize at the MediaFinlandia 2010 contest. Also featured in the 24th Epica Book: Europe's Best Advertising.



	PORTFOLIO '09 This multimedia site was a collaboration between me, web designer Juhana Mikkanen and sound designer Kalle Wahlberg. Trying to push your own limits usually pays off and as a prize this portfolio site was awarded silver at the Finnish Best Of The Year advertising competition outspacing major agencies. The same team also produced this another site which got honourable mention at the same competition in the young creatives category one year earlier.


		PERSONAL Defining what is illustration these days is getting hard. Constantly evolving technologies help mixing and mashing different styles of techniques and by doing so the old definitions of what is illustration is getting hazy. Guess you could describe my style as illustration imitating photomontages. I do most of my work with Photoshop by combining all sort of images and adding that hand drawn feeling in to the mix. In some of my illustrations I try to be as thought-provoking as possible and some are just for laughs. I think It's good to uphold the balance between the serious stuff and the buffooning. I just spotted that the Fragile Childhood campaign was featured in the 24th Epica Book: Europe's Best Advertising. It is the only annual reference on European advertising that covers all types of media, from commercials and print publications to internet sites and integrated marketing campaigns. The Epica Awards are the most prestigious creative awards in Europe.

Services & pricing

I offer services from art direction and illustration to creative retouching. If I'm unable for the moment to take your case I promise to route you towards the next best thing.

I usually work as an subcontractor for advertising agencies, photographers and game houses. But individual clients without ad agency are welcome as well.

Planning: 125 e / hour.
Executions: 85 e / hour.

Above is the hour rates but I have a tendency to settle a certain sum with my clients and then work the hours that are necessary.

Retouch

Retouching images usually settle somewhere between 298 - 680 euros / image.

Detailed image manipulation and merging of multiple images prices move between 1230 - 2500 euros / image.

Illustration

Photo collages and 3D based illustrations: 1230 - 2950 e / image.

And that's how they get you...

Potential surcharges from materials, photo shoot supervisions and planning. Sales tax will be included in every bill.

Non-profit oraganizations & collaborations

I'd like to offer my knowledge to non-profit organizations for minimum charge. Depending, of course, on the project and my schedule. Please don't hesitate to ask.

Nonconformity, curiosity, persistence and willingness to take risks. These four traits are found from people with the ability to divergent thinking. The ability to see lots of possible answers to a question. Lots of possible ways to interpret the question.
